Last chance to have your say on train service franchise

by Haringey Lib Dems on 23 August, 2012

There are just hours left for residents to have their say on rail services at Harringay, Hornsey and Finsbury Park Stations – as the Department for Transport’s consultation finishes today (Thursday 23rd August).  The consultation is especially important as Harringay and Hornsey Stations could miss out on a £6bn Government upgrade to services from the Thameslink programme – because the platforms are too short or on the wrong tracks.

Cllr. Richard Wilson comments:

It would be massive shame if the area were to miss out on this investment – and a disaster if we end up with less services. So Lynne Featherstone MP is urging all local residents to stand up for services at these stations and has produced an online survey so she can present residents views to the Department for Transport.

To publicise the consultation and survey, Katherine, Ed and I have delivered a letter across the ward and handed out leaflets at Harringay Station.  I know colleagues in Harringay and Hornsey wards have done the same.  Hopefully, this means we will get a bumper response that shows the Department for Transport our train services can’t be left out.

Please note: there is advice on filling out the Government consultation on local community website harringayonline.
